Over two days at White Wing Golf Club, Titans boys golfers showed they had the skill and mental toughness to compete with the state's best.
On Tuesday, the Titans brought a trophy back to Frisco that proves it.
Centennial finished as the 5A state runner-up in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) championship. The Titans finished the two-day, two-round tournament tied with Cedar Park and then won a playoff to take sole possession of second place behind Highland Park.
"This group has been hard at work since August, and it feels great to end the season on the podium at state," Centennial coach Brooke Donovan said. "I am extremely proud of what they have accomplished this season."
Centennial’s state competitors were Austin Coyle, Preston Cox, Henry Frizzell, Noah Koster and Nathan Weber. Frizzell was the Titans’ top finisher, taking fifth place among 5A individuals after solid back-to-back rounds of 72.
